OPI Spring/Summer 2009 South Beach Collection

Here are the images of OPI Spring/Summer 2009 South Beach Collection. The South Beach Collection consists of twelve nail polishes in pink, purple, orange and nude/earthy tones in shimmery and cream finishes. "Sand In My Suit" is the only shade (in this collection) with a frosty finish.

I have been into soft coral nail polishes lately. Conga-Line Coral (in orange-rose) and OPI On Collins Ave. (in red orange) will be on top of my list. The South Beach Collection is set to be released on February 4th, 2009. I am hoping to see these nail polishes sooner than the official released date.

Spotted: Sneak Peek of Dior Spring 2009 Makeup Collection

Dior Spring 2009 Makeup Collection

Spotted! Dior's spring 2009 makeup collection is on display at Macy's. I was at a mall for after-Christmas shopping, and surprised to see this Dior's collection at Macy's (other department stores didn't have it on display yet). I couldn't wait to see the star item, Lady Dior, which is a makeup palette (available in two variations) containing a highlighter and a cheek/lip color in cream texture.

Unfortunately, Dior's spring collection is only on display and is not available for sale at the Macy's (and other department stores I visited). Not only that, the limited-edition Lady Dior palette I saw was only a case without any makeup in it. I was told by the sales associate that this collection should be arriving sometime next week.

Even that, I was thrilled to be able to play with the Lady Dior palette. It is such a beautiful makeup palette in the exquisite "Lady Dior" handbag shape with "Cannage" stitching and Dior logo letters. Even without makeup in it, this tiny bag can be an adorable keychain or bag charm by itself. I am sure it will be a highly sought after collectible for Dior's fans.

As to the rest of Dior's spring collection, the colors are just lovely to look at! The overall collection features an array of soft earthy shades and nude pastel colors. It has a great sense of elegance and femininity without being overly girly or sweet! I will keep my eyes on this collection this coming week.

Sonia Rykeil spring 2009 makeup collection will debut on February 6th in Japan. This collection features mostly revamped items. As a fan Sonia Rykiel Beauté, I am really happy to see new ranges of lip gloss, cheek color and eyeliner pencil come out.

Unlike the current Face Color Powders that has four gradational shades, the upcoming new Cheek Color Powder will feature six shades of gradation.

Integrate Holiday 2008 Makeup Palette in Gold/Orange Variation

I bought a Shiseido's Integrate holiday 2008 makeup palette when I was in Taipei last month. This limited-edition makeup palette is available in silver/pink and gold/orange variations. The one I have is in gold/orange variation.

Packaging

This makeup palette comes with a hexagon-shaped case. The lid is adorned with silver and gold snowflake prints that reflect the light from different angles. The case is quite thin and very lightweight, which makes it easy to place it inside my clutch.

The lip colors in the palette run out fast as they come in relatively small size. The biggest drawback of this makeup palette is that the bristles of the lip brush fall off easily, which bothers me when I use it.

Color, Pigmentation & Finish
All the shades contain multi-colored shimmer.

-Glitter Shade
The glittery shade on the top is a highlighter for the eyes and cheeks. It has a creamy texture, but I found it is not as smooth as I expected, yet slightly stiff to pick up the color with fingers. On the other hand, the good thing is it prevents me from getting too much glitters.

It goes on way less glittering and chunky than what it looks like in the pan, and imparts a silver shimmery finish. I prefer to dab this glitter shade over other of my powder eyeshadows as a final touch to create a glittering shimmer effect. I personally think it looks better on top of eyeshadows than worn alone.

-Lip Colors
The two lip glosses are light-pigmented with intense shimmering particles. The texture is somewhat sticky. The sheer peachy shade (on the bottom right) features subtle micro-fine shimmer, while the off-white shade (with a hint of champagne gold) features glittering shimmer.

The sheer peachy shade is slightly more pigmented than the off-white shade. But since these two lip colors contain intense shimmer, it is quite difficult to notice the difference on the lips as both of them deliver a sheer, glossy, and shimmery finish. My lips are left noticeable shimmering particles as the off-white shade wears off.

Staying Power
All the shades have decent lasting power.

Summary

The overall colors of Integrate's holiday 2008 makeup palette are very sheer with intense shimmer. I expected that it had more pigment to create more definition and depth. This makeup palette works better for me as a highlighter to add shine and shimmer over other of my powder eyeshadow(s) and lipstick(s).

I have just updated my post about Lunasol's spring 2009 makeup collection to include more promo images. Themed with Floral Purification, this collection is inspired by the energy and beauty of blooming cherry blossoms, magnolia, wisteria, azalea and plum in spring.

Other than Dior's spring '09 collection, Lunasol's upcoming spring collection is the one I have been paying close attention. I am in love with these floral-themed eyeshadow palettes and lip colors. They look so refined and elegant!

I am really intrigued by the eyeshadow palettes in #02 White Gradation, #03 Purple Gradation, and #05 Orange Gradation. Since this collection will be available in Japan on January 16th, 2009, I guess I still have time to decide.

Shu Uemura will release its 128th mode makeup collection, Mirage, for spring 2009 on January 23th, 2009 in Japan. Inspired by the masterpieces of French Impressionist painter Claude Monet, the Mirage collection is based with soft pastels and vibrant brights such as light blue, sheer lavender, pale green, pastel yellow, baby pink, and soft slate grey, etc to convey a soft contour of light and shadow.

For base makeup, I am delighted to see Shu Uemura will come up with UV Under Base UV Mousse Shimmer, which is a new version of to its signature product, UV Under Base .

The UV Under Base (with sun protection) is a foundation primer in weightless mousse texture that helps to smooth, even out skintone, and prepare the face for makeup. According to the press release, the UV Under Base Mousse Shimmer contains subtle shimmer for a more natural-looking shimmering effect.
