Paul & Joe website has been updated with its Smoke & Mirrors Winter Sparkles Collection 2009. The collection has been released in the US, and will be launched in Japan on November 6th.

It includes:

includes an eyeshadow palette and a coordinating eyeliner pencil (2 variations)
(limited editions)

Highlighting Powder & Pearl Powder Set:
includes a face highlighter and a loose powder eyeshadow (2 variations)

The items in Eye Color Kit I and Highlighting Powder & Pearl Powder Set will be sold in sets for Asian markets, while they are sold separately in EU and US markets.

All the items in this collection have been released in the US. In Japan, Highlighting Powder & Pearl Powder Set, Body Milk and Body Treatment Oil will be released on December 4th, while the rest of the collection will be released on November 6th.

Shiseido's Integrate will release its holiday 2009 collection on November 21st in Japan. Apart from the new shades added to the family of Glamorous Rouge lipstick gloss, there will be new ranges of cheek colors and liquid eyebrow pens in this collection.

The new limited-edition cheek color, which is called Forming Cheeks, features six gradational shades, and is available in pink topaz and red coral tones. The packaging of Forming Cheeks looks quite appealing. I look forward to seeing the images of the full lineup.

Shiseido Smoothing Lip Pencil RD702 (Anemone)

Shiseido's international makeup line, simply called Shiseido, has been revamped since its spring releases in January, 2009. The famed British makeup artist Dick Page is the Makeup Artistic Director of Shiseido.

Shiseido Smoothing Lip Pencil RD702 (Anemone)

Perfect Rouge (in 20 shades) and Smoothing Lip Pencil (in 7 shades) are the initial releases debuted with its spring '09 collection.

Smoothing Lip Pencil is currently available in seven shades in different tones: pink, red, raspberry, beige and brown. RD702 (Anemone) is one of the two shades categorized as red in the lineup.

Shiseido Smoothing Lip Pencil RD702 (Anemone)

Color
Though RD 702 (Anemone) is categorized as red, it is a neutral-toned light pink with slight berry and grey undertones. The color of the tube captures the actual color of this lip liner very well.

Texture
Compared to my Chantecaille Lip Definer in Nuance, the texture of Shiseido Smoothing Lip Pencil is relatively firm. It is, however, not stiff or harsh to the touch. It gives a smooth and precise application without dragging the skin.

Shiseido Smoothing Lip Pencil RD702 (Anemone)

Packaging
The built-in lip lining brush with soft, natural bristles is easy to use. I haven't had any problems with the bristles falling out.

Pigment
It offers a rich, full pigment that covers the redness and uneven skin tone of my lips effectively. The shade complements my lip colors in light pink and pinkish nude.

Finish
Though RD 702 is a light pink with slight berry and grey undertones, it goes a pastel, cool-toned pink on my lips. The finish is slightly cool-toned, but not overly bright or chalky. It gives subtle depth and definition to my lips.

Lasting Power

Shiseido Smoothing Lip Pencil is long-lasting. It does a good job preventing the lipstick or lip gloss from feathering. This lip liner shade comes off slightly after drinks and light meals. The color does wear off after a meal.

I happened to spot Shiseido holiday 2009 Rich Rocks Collection while browsing and trying out the holiday makeup collections at Bloomingdale's yesterday. The colors in Shiseido's limited-edition holiday '09 collection looked mysteriously rich, yet wearable.

Designed by Makeup Artistic Director of Shiseido, Dick Page, the colors were inspired by the pure textures and colors of precious stones found during his travels in the Four Corners area of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona in the US.

It is a relatively small collection that includes:

Luminizing Satin Eye Color: 3 new shades
Perfect Mascara: 1 new shade
Smoothing Eyeliner Pencil: 1 new shade
Perfect Rouge: 1 new shade
Transluscent Loose Powder: 1 new shade

Kate will release Brown Collection in Japan on November 1st. This brown-toned collection includes 4 eyeshadow palettes and 4 Nudist Designing Lip colors for a natural-looking makeup look.

Each eyeshadow palette consists of three eye colors and two eyebrow shades. Nudist Designing Lip is formulated with jojoba oil, almond oil and olive oil that help leave the skin soft and moisturized.
