From left to right: #01 Rose, #02 Blue, #03 Khaki Green, #04 Grey, and #05 Beige
The Trance Deep Eyes series really appeals to me. The range is available in various color combinations that suit the mood in the summer and fall. I am really liking the palette #03 which features green and champagne gold, and #05 which features a combination of beige and gold. Since I already have too many neutral/nude shades and I don't have any kind of green eye shadows, I am leaning toward the palette #03 in Khaki Green.

Product Review: Aloette Cosmetics
I had the opportunity to try a few cosmetics products from Aloette. This is my review on Long Wear Lip Color, Liquid Lip Shine and Natural Makeup Collection after using them for about 2 months.
The Long Wear Lip Color lipstick is infused with shea butter, natural vanilla and vitamin E. It has a vanilla scent. The creamy texture leaves the lips feel moisturized. The lipstick in "Pomegranate" is a deep berry red with silver particles. With silver micro-particle shimmer color accents, it imparts a silver sheen that makes the deep berry red look more lively and youthful.
Liquid Lip Shine
Liquid Lip Shine lip gloss is formulated with vitamins, antioxidants and natural oils. The lip gloss has a minty flavor. "Rosebud", is a light fuchsia pink with fine multi-color shimmer. The lip gloss has the high pigment of lipstick. What I like about the lip gloss is it has the high pigment of lipstick while it has the moisturizing texture and thin consistency of lip gloss. So it goes on well-pigmented without drying out.
The subdued shimmer provides sophisticated shine and luminous vibrancy. The finish is a saturated fuchsia pink with a sheer wash of color. After applying more layers on, it delivers a glossier finish. I found Liquid Lip Shine has a good staying power. I am impressed that the color stays on well without bleeding or feathering easily.

Natural Makeup Collection features neutral shades for eyes, cheeks, lips and the complexion. With all sorts of makeup and the essential makeup brushes you need for the face in a case, the collection is a good makeup kit for travel. The colors in the collection are coordinated to compliment each other and provides an easy application for a natural look.

This makeup is talc-free. It contains anti-oxidants to protect the skin from free radical damage and gatuline for skin firming. The collection includes:
- 1 Translucent Veil Finishing Powder
- 1 Bronzer
- 1 Cheek Color
- 3 Lip Colors
- 4 Eye Silks
- 2 Powder Eyeliners
- 3 Professional Quality Brushes (multi-use, eye liner and blush brushes)
-Eye Silk
The texture is extraordinary silky smooth. The silky texture is a great pleasure to apply on the skin. The collection features four eye shadows in ivory, beigy brown, pale pink and taupe. The first two colors are matte, and the latter two shades contain shimmer. The colors are blendable and buildable. The combination of light and deep neutral shades give the eyes dimension with a natural touch.
-Powder Eyeliner
The texture has the same level of smoothness with the Eye Silk. They are very soft to the touch. The Powder Eyeliner features deep chocolate brown and black gray without any shimmer. The shades are not intense or dramatic like the darkest black. Overall, the deep chocolate brown and black gray eyeliners enhance the eyes with subtle depth and definition.
-Lip Color
The lip colors consist of deep red, berry red and shimmery pink rose. The deep red has a brownish undertone, making the finish look warm and intense. The berry red has a cool undertone that I like. The shimmery pink rose has a hint of coral. The berry red and pink rose suit my fairly light skin well.
-Cheek Color
The blusher is a midtone rosy coral. It is matte and has quite a pigmented coverage. The finish is a warm muted coral shade with a bare hint of pinky rose.
-Bronzer
The bronzer is a golden bronzed shade with red undertones. It has subtle gold shimmer. The bronzer goes on pigmented. I would suggest starting with a little amount, using light strokes and build up the color gradually in case the finish gets too heavy.
-Translucent Veil Finishing Powder
The Translucent Veil Finishing Powder gives a sheer, natural matte coverage. It has a faint pink undertone. The finishing powder can fairly cover the pores and blemishes, and even out my complexion nicely.
-Makeup Brushes
The eyeliner and multi-use brushes feel soft on the skin. But the blush brush needs some improvement. The synthetic bristles of the blush brush fall out easily and feel too stiff on the skin.

Product Review: Belli Foot Relief Cream & Skin Smoothing Body Exfoliator
Belli is a skin care brand from the US that develops products especially for expectant and new mothers. The company takes high safety standards and thorough screening processes to ensure no harmful ingredients in its formulations linked to birth defects.
The range of Belli's products is mainly divided into three collections: Belli Pregnancy, Belli Motherhood and Belli Baby. Each of these products is designed for specific needs at different stages of motherhood.
The products are created with natural, organically grown ingredients, free of dyes, synthetic fragrances and paraben preservatives. All the products are allergy tested, which is a great plus for sensitive skin type, just like mine. I had the pleasure of trying a few products from Belli. I am going to share with you my review on the Foot Relief Cream and Skin Smoothing Body Exfoliator.

Elegant Packaging
Foot Relief CreamFoot Relief Cream features peppermint, tea tree oil and shea butter, which provide an aroma-therapeutic, anti-bacterial, moisturizing treatment to the swollen, tired feet and legs. Belli's Foot Relief Cream has a light soothing scent of peppermint and a cream texture. The cream texture is lightweight. It does take a little extra time to rub the cream until the cream feels workable. Once the cream feels workable, it is very easy to distribute the cream and gently massage into areas. What I really love about the foot cream is it remains workable throughout the duration of massage.
Some of the foot creams I have tried before tend to develop flaky bits during the process of massage. I really dislike the flaky bits. This is a big no-no when it comes to foot cream (in fact, for any kind of creams). Usually, I love to do a deep massage for my feet and legs, back and forth for a few times, to relieve muscle tension and ache. It needs more glide and workability for deep massage and better absorption of foot cream. The kind of foot cream I like has to allow enough time for a thorough massage without drying out and causing flakes too early. To my great delight, Belli Foot Relief Cream does not cause flakes easily during the massage treatment.
It leaves the skin a pleasant non-greasy finish. My feet and legs feel relieved and relaxed after the soothing massage. Belli Foot Relief Cream leaves the skin feeling refreshed without the cool feeling like other foot creams. I enjoy the cool feeling during the hot summer weather but not in the winter. That could be too cold and too uncomfortable in a cold weather.
Skin Smoothing Body Exfoliator
Skin Smoothing Body Exfoliator is a body scrub featuring green tea, ginseng and peppermint. These natural ingredients are known for their anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It has a very refreshing and light minty scent. The particles are so refined that they gently slough dead skin and soften the skin without any harsh feeling.
Sum-up
I love Belli's natural and gentle approach to the skin products. The ingredients and scents of the Foot Relief Cream and Skin Smoothing Body Exfoliator are so mild that revive the skin and gives me peace of mind. The packaging style is classy and elegant. Whether you are pregnant or not, it is worth considering Belli's skin-care and body-care products.

Product Review: AG Hair Cosmetics
AG Hair Cosmetics is a Canadian brand established in 1989. The AG products are distributed through salons, and are currently available in North America. I had the opportunity to try out some products from AG Hair Cosmetics. This is a review on the Xtramoist Moisturizing Shampoo, Ultramoist Moisture Treatment, Re:coil Curl Activating Balm and Liquid Varnish Smoothing Polish.
My hair is fairly fine and thin. After styling my hair, it still falls flat and becomes limp easily, especially on rainy or humid days. I had a perm about half a year ago. Now, the permed hair has become less curly, and been growing past the shoulder blades. The middle-length part and the end are prone to dryness and frizz.
Xtramoist Moisturizing Shampoo & Ultramoist Moisture Treatment
Xtramoist Moisturizing Shampoo is formulated with naturally occurring moisture binders, amino acids, proteins, panthenol and herbal extracts, etc to restore the moisture and hydration of the hair. Ultramoist Moisture Treatment is complimentary to the moisturizing shampoo in the treatment of dry brittle hair and split ends.
The Xtramoist Moisturizing Shampoo has a scent of berries and cream. It is easy to lather up. The consistency of the Ultramoist Moisture Treatment conditioner is not so smooth, which can make it difficult to spread on the hair evenly, if you have long hair. In my opinion, the Ultramoist Moisture Treatment conditioner is more suitable for people who have dry short to middle length hair.
The moisturizing shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair fairly moisturized, soft and vitalized. Also, it adds long-lasting volume to my hair. Most of the moisturizing shampoos and conditioners I have used tend to weigh down my limp hair. After using the products for almost two months, I see the split-ends have been greatly reduced. The ends have been stronger than before. However, on the down side, I didn't find my hair silkier as I'd expected. I think AG Hair Cosmetics' Xtramoist Moisturizing Shampoo and Ultramoist Moisture Treatment focus more on renewing and vitalizing the hair.
Re:coil Curl Activating Balm
I enjoy using this curl activating balm very much. The Re:coil Curl Activating Balm is AG's #1 selling product. The curl activating balm redefines and enhances the curls. It supports the curls and controls the frizz against the humidity.
The way you apply the Re:coil Curl Activating Balm and the amount of the balm you use are critical to creating a successful look of airy curls. My experiences with the product were not successful during the first trial. After several times of try-and-error, I have figured out a way that works for me. And, the result does live up to what the product claims.
The Re:coil Curl Activating Balm has a confectionery scent and thick cream texture. I would recommend to emulsify a dime-sized amount in the palms first before applying on the clean damp hair. Otherwise, it goes on balmy. The next step is to distribute the emulsified curl activating balm evenly on the hair. Then, use the fingers to scrunch the hair. It is important that you make sure the cream is evenly spread on hair. The hair becomes stiff if one strand of hair absorbs too much amount of cream. If I have time, I would further encourage the curls with rollers after I scrunch the hair with fingers. After half an hour or so, I let go the rollers and blow dry the hair at low temperature.
What I enjoy using this product is it enhances the curls of my permed hair, and plumps up the roots of hair at the same time. It also tames the frizz and flyaways. There is no build-up on the hair or any stiff or heavy feeling, if the amount of balm is correctly applied. In between every two days I wash my hair, my hair is kept wavy and fluffy.
In order to achieve a desired result with the Re:coil Curl Activating Balm, you probably have to figure out the best way and right amount that work for your hair type. All in all, the Re:coil Curl Activating Balm does a good job creating definition, volume and texture with long-lasting hold. I like this product, and will continue using it to style my curls.
Liquid Varnish Smoothing PolishThe Liquid Varnish Smoothing Polish gel provides moisture and seals the hair cuticle with a shine finish. It smoothes the frizz, flyaways and split-ends. This Liquid Varnish is free of oil and alcohol. It leaves my hair soft and manageable without sticky and greasy feeling.
AG is currently available through licensed, professional salons in North America. You can click here for AG's salon locations.

Product Review: beautyAddict Glimmersheers
Established in 2005, beautyAddicts is a cosmetics brand that aims to achieve beauty through simplicity. The brand has opted to create makeup in a streamlined color system for an effortless solution of being chic and sophisticated. Most of its makeup is available in palettes with coordinated colors.
GLIMMERSheers is a series of highlighter and luminizer duos. The line-up includes Glow (soft lavender), Express (champagne), Motivate (soft rose) and Seduce (pale silver). I am going to share with you my thoughts on the Glow and Express compacts. The Glimmersheers compact comprises two shades for the face and body. In the compact, the left side is the Glimmer-Glowing Highlighter, which features a pastel, shimmery shade. The right side is the Sheer-Clear Gel Luminizer in crystal clear shade. The highlighter has a creamy texture; the luminizer has a gel consistency.
Glimmer-Glowing Highlighter
The highlighter can be applied alone or layered over other shades. It delivers a subtle wash of color on top of eye shadow(s), blusher, or lip colors. The light lavender shade from the Glow compact highlights my other blue, grey and black eye shadows beautifully with a ladylike touch. The champagne gold from the Express compact is warm and sunny. It works great as a multi-purpose highlighter for the eyes, cheeks, lips, shoulders and decollete.
GLIMMERSheers "Express" Compact
I like to wear this highlighter cream alone as a base color on the eyes when I want to keep makeup simple and light on casual days. It evens out and brightens up the skin tone, and gives me a sense of clarity for a fresh look. Just a little goes a long way. It can be overwhelmingly frosty or metallic if I apply too much amount of it.
The Glimmer contains Dermaxyl for collagen stimulation and elastic production, Ceramide 2 for hydration, the anti-oxidant properties of Green Tea, and vitamins A and E.
Sheer - Clear Gel Luminizer
Sheer luminizer has a lightweight gel texture. It goes on transparent. The direction suggests to pat it over the Glimmer highlighter cream for a luminous radiance, or wear it on the brow bone, over lipstick or on the face for a sublime glow. If you apply it this way, I would suggest to finish the look with light strokes of translucent face powders to avoid the slightly sticky feeling of the gel luminizer.

Right Side: Glowing Highlighter Left Side:Clear Gel Luminizer
The Sheer luminizer is formulated with Jojoba Oil, full of anti-oxidant properties, to smooth and moisturize the skin. It is non-comedogenic, which means it does not block pores.
Sum-up
The Glimmersheer highlighter and luminizer duos in Express and Glow from beautyAddicts are wearable and workable. The light lavender shade of Express works great with cool tones of eye shadows. The champagne gold of Glow is on-trend for the summer. It is very easy to apply the shades with fingertips or brushes for a sheer wash of color. I especially like the Express compact in champagne gold as it adds a touch of light gold shimmer and splash to the face and body.

Anna Sui 2008 Summer Collection
After the Beach Collection for Summer 2008, Anna Sui will launch another collection on June 5th, 2008 in Japan. This collection includes Mini Rouge W lip glosses, Hair Spray G, Body Spray G, and Bath & Body Primary Kit.
The Mini Rouge will be available in three lip colors. It comes with a chain on the side with a mirror and lip gloss at the inside. The case has a rose-shape lid in white color, which is different from the black packaging of the existing Mini Rouge line (Mini Rouge was first out in Fall 2007).
The Bath & Body Kit comprises of Anna Sui Hair Shampoo, Hair Conditioner and Body Shampoo. These are products that have been previously available. For the Bath & Body Kit, they come in mini sizes in a decorative pouch.
For me, the Hair Spray and Body Spray are the most exciting things in the collection. They, of course, are scented with Anna Sui's signature rosy scent, which is infused into each of its makeup products. The Hair Spray G smoothes and softens the hair for ultra shine. The Body Spray G is formulated with sun protection, which prevents the skin from sun damage.
I am totally in love with Anna Sui's rose-scented makeup. The tea rose aroma is lightly floral, but not overly perfumy or powdery. It has a faint hint of green note, making the fragrance relatively durable. Thus, I think Anna Sui has come up with a brilliant idea for the Hair and Body Sprays! It is fascinating that the body spray could provide moisture with a hint of rosy scent while adding a veil of sun protection for the body.
I will be keeping an eye on this collection, and will keep you posted if I have more information about it.

Elégance Cosmetics for Summer 2008
Elégance will release its Summer 2008 collection on May 18, 2008 in Japan. The collection focuses on eye colors, nail lacquers and a body cream. For the eyes, Elégance comes up with three new eye shadows and a new line of eye liners. The eye shadows feature green, blue and brown. The eye liners are available in a range of shades from light to deep.
The colors from the collection are kept neutral and sophisticated. The official website of this summer collection has a demonstration of how to incorporate these colors. I am really liking the beautiful finish look demonstrated by the model on the website. It imparts subtle gradations in pearlescent shades, and adds definition and depth to the eyes.
The collection includes:
Eye liner: features five shadesEye shadow: available in three new colors
Nail lacquer: available in three shades
Glowing Body: SPF25 PA++ with subtle pearly shimmer
I really love the brand. What are the chances that it will be available in the US in the future?!
