The Buzz: Upcoming New Mascaras

Summer is here not long ago and we are already expecting a lot new products coming up this fall. There are a few highly anticipated mascaras going to hit the market this fall. Here is a quick glance on what's coming.

In July, Estée Lauder will release TurboLash All Effects Motion Mascara, which features a battery-operated vibrating brush that vibrates at 125 micropulses per second. It is claimed to provide length, volume and curl, and separate lashes from clumping. Retailing for around US$30, it will be launched exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue on July 17, 2008, and will roll out nationwide in the US later this year.

Lancôme Ôscillation mascara

Lancôme will launch Ôscillation mascara, which is a battery-powered vibrating mascara that provides 7,000 micro-oscillations per minute. Designed by the creator of mascara brushes for Lancôme, Jean-Louis Guéret, the vibrating mascara has a polymer-based formula and is said to provide a 360-degree coverage around each lash.

Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes Mascara

For Givenchy, the brand will release a new mascara called Phenomen’Eyes mascara in August, 2008. Created by Givenchy Le Makeup's artistic director Nicolas Degennes, Phenomen’Eyes mascara features a spherical brush to reach every single lash from all sides. This mascara is formulated with elastomer to help an easier gliding application. The formula is also created from water and polymer to coat, lengthen and separate the lashes. Phenomen’Eyes mascara will be available in black and brown.

Will the battery-powered vibrating mascaras aid shaping lashes and separate lashes to prevent clumping effectively? Could it be a hit like the battery-powered toothbrush? I am still very skeptical about this gadget if it could replace skillful and manual application of mascara. It is definitely interesting to try out these buzzing mascaras. Personally, however, I am more interested to check out Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes Mascara when it hits the shelves in the US.

I will always love Too Faced's Lash Injection. It's so good and less than $20.00.

Hello Make-up artist,

Thanks for stopping by!

I am not sure about the new battery-powered vibrating mascaras too. Not sure how these vibrating mascaras will make a difference.

I definitely will check them out when they hit the shelves here. :)

Sincerely,

BA

Yea like make-up artist said, i'm not sure about the brush either. seems like it would make them your lashes stick together.

A really good mascara for thickening is Urban Decay's Big Fatty or Lancome's Hypnose. Both are amazing.

Hello My Most Favourite,

Thank you for stopping by!

I agree with your thoughts.

These battery-powered mascaras are about to be launched soon.I will definitely give them a try. We'll see!

Thank you so much for recommending these mascaras! I have never tried Urban Decay's mascaras. But I do have good experiences with Lancome's mascaras.

Lancome is such a mascara giant. I look forward to checking the launch of the Ôscillation mascara.

Cheers,

BA
