"Chubby Cheeks" from Essie Summer 2009 Collection

Essie summer 2009 collection is my favorite nail color collection for this summer season. It features six shades from pink nudes, bright pinks to corals. I simply like every color in this collection for its great wearability and girly personality.

After trying the colors at a local beauty store, I decided to take home "Chubby Cheeks" and "Not Just a Pretty Face" because they both look more natural on my nails.

"Chubby Cheeks" from Essie Summer 2009 Collection

Chubby Cheeks is the deepest shade in this collection. The official website describes it perfectly as a deep coral with hints of red in a crème finish.

The color is on the warm side, and it has a rich, gorgeous pigment. The color payoff is beautiful! Two coats of this nail color are enough for a rich and glossy finish. To add more intensity and drama for night occasions, three coats give a gloss lacquer finish with a more intense red pigment.

The smooth formula and the brush make this color glide on smoothly and evenly. Most of all, the drying time is relatively fast, and the color lasts well.

Overall, this subtle and feminine coral shade not only is great for casual wear or for office environment, but also can be layered to increase the red pigment suitable for night occasions.

I just came across this post that features close-ups and swatches of the items in RMK's fall 2009 Autumn Mystique Collection. This collection is already on my fall '09 shopping list. The colors of the Mystique Eyes palette in beige brown variation and the Mystique Cheeks palette in neutral variation appeal to me very much. After seeing the close-up of the two Mystique Cheeks palettes, I am more intrigued by the one in neutral variation.

Anna Sui fall 2009 makeup collection will be released on August 20th in Japan. The collection consists mostly of revamped base makeup items that feature new packaging. These base makeup products, including Moisture Rich Foundation Primer, Moisture Rich Fluid Foundation and Moisture Rich Powder Foundation, aim at providing a long-lasting moisturizing effect and a smooth, flawless coverage.

Also, I was very surprised to see that the new face of Anna Sui Cosmetics is supermodel Agyness Deyn, who fronted the fall 2008 ad campaign for Shiseido's Maquillage.

This collection also has limited-edition Moisture Rich Foundation Kit, which includes Moisture Rich Foundation Primer, either Moisture Rich Fluid Foundation or Moisture Rich Powder Foundation in a pouch. Items in the Moisture Rich Foundation Kit are all full-sized.

Some of you probably have learned that a mini set of nail colors from Essie fall 2009 collection is now available at Nordstrom. This mini set (Nordstrom exclusive) consists of Pink Parka, Angora Cardi, Mink Muffs and Midnight Cami. These colors are four of the six shades from Essie fall '09 collection.

This collection includes (from left to right in the picture):

Chinchilly: granite gray
Angora Cardi: dusty rose
Mink Muffs: smoky plush taupe
